A beautiful Easter table...

I shared some fun ideas for some special Easter treats for the kids yesterday HERE...and I mentioned that I was going to share some ideas for decorating for the kids' table if you have one and I completely forgot.  So today....I will share some great ideas to decorate a festive Easter table for the kids as well as the big people table (as we call it at our house).

I've said it before and I still stand by it....food tastes better on a beautiful table.  Not sure why, but I truly believe it.

This adorable place setting is actually from a "Peter Rabbit" birthday party, but it totally lends itself to Easter.

I think it's fun to add some special treats to the kid's table to get them excited to sit and eat.  At our house the kids just want to play, play, play and need the incentive to sit still for a meal.  So here's some fun ideas...

While we're on the topic of centerpieces, I found some really creative ideas for your main table or counter for Easter.  I love tons of color this time of year and pretty flowers would be just as beautiful.  I shared a few great flower arrangements ideas HERE too.

I love these ideas...

This one is super simple...plastic eggs, a vase, and either fake or real pussy willows or other branches or greenery.

The next few all have fresh flowers and either candy or something else decorating the vase.  The key to success with these is to use a vase inside a vase.

These look like real eggs, but of course you could use fake as well.

Check out these gorgeous tables set-ups for an Easter meal.  Maybe you don't have to go all out like some of these, but I like to take ideas for different ones I see to create my own.

What I love about the ones I'm showing are:  use of Spring colors, the mix and match and the use of every foods and items to add color to the table (ie. eggs, flowers).

Easter treats and party prep!

Just a few more days until Easter.  We are hosting a brunch with my in laws this year so I'm busy pulling together the menu and some quick and easy ideas for decorating the table.  Oh, and getting our baskets and egg hunt together too of course.  I shared some fun ideas for goodies other than candy for the baskets yesterday as well as some fun egg hunt ideas.  You can see them HERE.

Today I have some great ideas for special treats for the kids and some fun kids' table decorating ideas.

Whether you're hosting, visiting family or volunteered for a kids' snack at school or another activity these sweet treats are sure to please!

Here is the treat I made for my son for his class party.  My son has severe food allergies so I have had to get very creative this year because his current school celebrates all of the holidays and has a special color day each month with a corresponding colored snack.   Here is my inspiration...

The ingredients included peanut butter, butterscotch, butter, chow mein noodles and semi-sweet chocolate chips.  My son is allergic to every single one of those ingredients.  So...my version includes:

Dairy, egg and soy free chocolate chips. (If you're wondering what on Earth IS in them...it's carob and lots of sugar, but he loves them. )  I also used Mike and Ike's which he can eat (all sugar) and pretzels.

I lined my cupcake tin with waxed paper, broke the pretzels into tiny pieces, covered them with melted chips and added the Mike and Ike's.  

Into the fridge they went and here's the end result.  While they don't look as much like a nest as the originals, he was quite happy with them.  He is SOOO excited for a special treat!

One last cute idea to share are these adorable Easter bunnies that would be so fun for a special Easter brunch or breakfast...made from cinnamon rolls with blueberry eyes and almond teeth!

Some Easter FUN!

We're less than a week away from Easter and the candy aisles at the grocery and drug stores are showing it!  I stopped by my local pharmacy today to pick up some last minute candy and they were WIPED out!   The only good thing...everything was on sale.  So...if you have yet to buy your own candy for baskets, do so quickly.

Growing up I remember getting my Easter basket on Easter morning and pouring over it to see what the big bunny brought me.  I remember candy...and that's about it!   I'm sure there were other things in there, but for some reason it was the candy that I remember.  Even though I'm sure my kids would say the same, I try to put only a little candy and lots of other goodies.   So much for what they want, huh?  Lol...

So in my quest to do less candy, I pinterest-ed across, I mean stumbled across some really fun ideas.   Check these out!

Jessica at 'Mom Creative' is filled with great ideas for the baskets.  Some of my favorites include: a toothbrush (they'll need it after all the candy), flower seeds, bike accessories and movie tickets.  So fun!  We must think alike because so many of my non-candy ideas are on her list!

This site is also filled with great ideas including filling your eggs at your egg hunt with different clues to a bigger prize or puzzle pieces that once you find them all, you can assemble the puzzle.  Cute ideas!

And I love this out of the box idea to use a toy dump truck for a little one as the basket  to hold all of the goodies!  And I suppose baking/cooking things on the left side are not for the little guy, but someone else...lol

I also love that Santa and the Easter Bunny ALWAYS bring our family a game for our Family Game Night that we try to do at least once a week.  Here's our new one...

I do have a bunch of other goodies for each of them and I plan on filling a bunch of eggs with quarters because they are both saving their allowance for our upcoming trip to Disney!

I also do a mini Easter egg hunt for them outside (assuming we have decent weather).  They LOVE this the most of anything.  I try to fill the eggs with a little candy, a few coins here and there, and sometimes some other small stickers or goodies.  It's not about what's inside, it's about finding them!

I love this idea and I'm thinking about trying it myself this year,  my kids had such a ball with the St. Patty's Day hunt we did even if my son couldn't read it and went totally out of order and ruined the surprise for his big sister.  Isn't that what being a little brother is all about?
